Definition
Maintainability is used to define how quickly and easily a system can be repaired to operational function after an outage occurs. Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) technicians are constantly monitoring the Maintainability of their systems. Employing maintenance methods such as Non-Routine Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, and Preventative Maintenance, inspection technicians can try to minimize system downtime and keep machines running in good condition. Every second that a machine is offline is money wasted in industrial applications.
