Thank you for choosing ViewTech video Borescopes. Today we’re talking about the small diameter VJ-4 articulating video borescope and how to use this protective metal sheathing when you’re putting the borescope in and removing the borescope from the storage case.

The first thing we want to do is pull the borescope out with the sheathing still secured and attached. Start by pulling the borescope out of the case, keeping the connection at the top of the insertion tube.

Then begin removing the sheathing from the insertion tube. Use caution as the tip and camera housing distal tip near the end of the sheathing does not fall or hit a surface once it has been extracted.

While the borescope is in use, feed the protective metal sheathing back into spool of the case and store it so it is protected when not covering the borescope insertion tube. Doing so will keep the sheathing out on an area someone could set something on it, causing it to bend or become damaged.

To put the borescope back in the case, thread the tip of the borescope in the top of the sheathing, through the rubber tip and once inside, it will slide in without much friction at all. Holding the sheathing in a U-shape while inserting the insertion tube will keep it from possibly getting damaged or slipping while trying to install. Once the entire insertion tube is inserted, then connect the foam opening of the sheathing to the rubber base of the insertion tip and return the borescope to the case, placing the sheathing in the spool. Make sure that the sheathing is not sticking out past the case lid as you close the case.
